Halifax is offering £100 to new customers - but the offer ends next week

There are various bank account switch incentives out there at the moment. Opportunities range from a free case of wine to cash payments - and this includes Halifax's £100 switch offer.

The offer from Halifax will end soon though, on May 4, 2021.

To get the £100, people must open a new Halifax Ultimate Reward Current Account or Reward Current account and switch and close the old account using the Current Account Switch Service.

Within three working days of the switch completing, the £100 will be paid into the account.

As well as the aforementioned rules, the switch must be started by May 4, 2021 to be eligible for the offer.

There are some exceptions as to who will qualify for the offer.

For instance, if a person who has received cashback for switching to the bank since April 2020, they won't be able to get the £100 offer.

People are are switching to a Halifax Current Account, Basic Account, Student Account or Youth Account also don't qualify.

Finally, people who are switching into any existing current account won't be eligible.

It's important to note there may be a fee to pay for the Ultimate Rewards Current Account and Reward Current Account.

There is a £17 monthly fee to maintain to Ultimate Reward Current Account.

Meanwhile, there is a £3 monthly fee to maintain the Reward Current Account.

However, if the account holder pays in £1,500 or more each month, they won't pay the fee.

Meanwhile, Virgin Money is offering a free wine case to switchers.

The bank said the 12-bottle case of wine from Virgin Wines is worth £138.

Switchers will also get access to a 2.02 percent AER interest rate on up to £1,000.

Furthermore, a £50 donation will be made to a Virgin Money Giving registered charity.
