Payment dates for benefits and pensions tend to change whenever a bank holiday comes up, as banks do not process payments on these days. With the two May bank holidays coming up, payments due on Mondays will change.
Universal Credit
UC is paid dependent on the date that you applied - so many people’s payment dates are different.
If you were due to be paid on the early May bank holiday, new payment dates are as follows:
Due date: Saturday, May 1 - will be paid in on Friday, April 30
Due date: Sunday, May 2 - will be paid in on Friday, April 30
Due date: Monday, May 3 - will be paid in on Friday, April 30
State Pension
State Pension is paid every four weeks, and the date it is paid depends on your National Insurance number.
If the last two digits are 00 to 19, you'll be paid on a Monday, 20 to 39 is a Tuesday, 40 to 59 is a Wednesday, 60 to 79 a Thursday and 80 to 99 a Friday.
For those whose last two digits are 00 to 19, your payment will be rescheduled due to the bank holiday.
For the early May bank holiday, your payment will be made on Friday, April 30.
For the late May Spring bank holiday, your payment will be made on Friday, May 28.
