SEISS: When does the self-employed grant scheme end?

The Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) is open for applications for the scheme’s fourth grant. To date, billions of pounds have been paid out to help support self-employed people during the pandemic. But with lockdown restrictions expected to end in the UK this year, the SEISS scheme is also scheduled to close.

When do fourth grant applications close?

Claimants must make their applications for SEISS grant four on or before June 1, 2021.

The fourth grant is capped at £7,500 and is worth 80 percent of average monthly trading profits.

The fourth grant opened for applications in late April.

The claimant will receive a grant worth 80 percent of average monthly trading profits, capped at £7,500, if their turnover has decreased by 30 percent or more.

If the claimant’s turnover has decreased by less than 30 percent, the grant will be worth 30 percent of trading profits, capped at £2,850 in total.

Like previous grants, the fifth grant is expected to be paid out in one lump sum.

Approval for the fifth grant will be subject to a claimant meeting several other eligibility criteria.
